Refund policy

Return Policy

We have a 30-day return policy. This means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible for a return, items must be in the same condition as when you received them, unworn or unused, with tags, and in their original packaging.
  • You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
  • Some items are non-returnable (see Exceptions below).

How to start a return

  • Contact us at thebudgetwarehouse@gmail.com.
  • Please include your order number, item name, and a brief reason for the return.
  • Returns should be sent to: 19 Tuhoro Street, Otorohanga 3900.
  • If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how to send your package. For faulty/damaged items, we will provide a prepaid return shipping label. For change-of-mind returns, return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility. Items sent back without an approved return request will not be accepted.

Costs and who pays

  • Faulty or damaged on arrival: We cover the return shipping costs (we’ll provide a prepaid label and arrange the return).
  • Change of mind: Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.

Damages and issues

  • Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or you receive the wrong item, so we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Refunds and processing

  • Once we receive and inspect your return, we’ll notify you of the outcome. If approved, refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. Please note that your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the refund to your account.

Non-returnable items (exceptions)

  • Perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants)
  • Custom or personalized items
  • Personal care goods
  • Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases
  • Sale items or gift cards

Exchanges

  • The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item (subject to stock availability). If you’d prefer, we can discuss exchange options case by case.

Your rights

  • This policy does not limit or affect your rights under the NZ Consumer Guarantees Act or other applicable laws. If an item is faulty, you’re entitled to a remedy (which could include a replacement, repair, or refund) under those laws.
